The research, published in Nature Materials, presents the new device studied by the scientists of the Universities of Manchester and Aix-Marseille. This discovery could lead to more accurate and faster drug tests.

The new sensor could be applied not only in the medical industry but also to ensure greater security in airports or other sites being able to counter not only the transport of drugs but also the transport of explosive materials.

The increased accuracy of this new device is due to the use of graphene which allows the detection of a single molecule of the banned substance identifying it in a few minutes.
