Scientists from MIT and Harvard University have discovered a new use for DNA molecules.

After building DNA nanostructures of various shapes, they used the molecules as templates to create nanoscale patterns on sheets of graphene. The results of this research could be very important for the electronics industry because the technique developed could be the first step towards large-scale production of next-generation transistors based on graphene, the carbon-based material with incredible electrical properties which is referred to as the successor to silicon in electronics.
